Problema con tor

Ho ubuntu e ho appena installato tor.
Per alcuni motivi devo sembrare negli stati uniti, ma non so come configurare(e in generale usare)tor per farlo.
Mi potete aiutare?

si si, puoi decidere controlla bene nelle impostazioni di TOR, dovrebbe esserci una lista di "nazioni" da scegliere...
se usi FF per utilizzarlo ti consiglio di installare anche torbutton e foxyproxy (li trovi negli addons di mozilla), una volta installati devi configurare FF per navigare con tor, quindi vai su preferenze > avanzate > rete > determina come si collega a internet | impostazioni... e li configuri, se googoli trovi tutto =)

weed ho appena cercato la cosa che dici tu su impostazioni ma non ho trovato niente.
Potresti dirmi in che punto delle impostazione questa scelta della nazione?

allora oltre a TOR devi installare anche TORK (lo trovi nei repo) che è un manager di tor fatto per kde quindi se hai gnome di devi portare dietro un pò di dipendenze (appena testato su debian lenny e si è preso 44 M di dipendenze) da li puoi impostare la provenienza e tante altre cose! quindi installa tork segui la configurazione passo passo e vedrai che poi puoi scegliere anche la provenieza

Here's what I've done to have a running smoothly and shiny Tor, TorK and privoxy
Before all that below you'll have to install it. I have choosed the TorK from universe repository, same for privoxy, and noreply.org repository for Tor. Let's add the noreply.org:
sudo kate /etc/apt/sources.list
and copy/paste there this:
deb http://mirror.noreply.org/pub/tor hardy main
deb-src http://mirror.noreply.org/pub/tor hardy main
then, of course
sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude install tor tork privoxy
When you have all that stuff installed let's do some configuring.

Firstly, edit the privoxy config. It can be done by that:
sudo kate /etc/privoxy/config
then find a line
#forward-socks4a / 127.0.0.1:9050 .
and uncomment it. DO NOT delete that little dot at the end of the line Then restart privoxy.
sudo /etc/init.d/privoxy restart

Secondly, edit the Tor config. Type in Konsole
sudo kate /etc/tor/torrc
then find a line
#ControlPort 9051
and uncomment it. Then restart Tor by typing:
sudo /etc/init.d/tor restart
Next thing is to configure TorK, but this can be done by a First Run Wizard

si esatto..... un commento è una parte di codice che non viene eseguita.... togliendo il # la fai esguire =)
