Salve, ho configurato seguendo i vari tools trovati in giro, compiz fusion sul mio UBUNTU 7.10 , ora pero' penso di avere qualche problema...

ogni tanto inspiegabilmente l'opzione di EFFETTI VISIVI salta passando da personalizzato a NESSUNO quindi perdo tutti gli effetti grafici tipo il cubo rotante per esempio...

Come sk video una nvidia gf 7600 gt, e come monitor un Hansol 710a 19'' e questo è il mio file xorg.conf :

hai installato qualche manager tipo compiz-setting-manager o gnome-compiz-manager?

se no, installane UNO.

se si:
1- controlla di non averne installati 2 (conflitto)
2- se ne hai uno, reinstallalo

a me è successo una volta perke il manager e la compiz tray icon andavano in conflitto... tolta la seconda, tutto apposto

avà.. non l'avevo visto =_=' oggi sto tritato...

reinstalla gli ultimi driver per attivare il rendering, se sei pigro usa envy.
 
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
(serve a riconfigurare x)
clicca sempre su ok e andrai avanti....
alla fine riavvia e sei apposto.

e ho fatto riparire la macchina, ma niente ......

Il sito l'ho visto ma non mi ha aiutato molto..
Compiz mi funziona bene o meglio penso mi funzioni bene l'unica cosa antipatica è che ad esempio se apro la finestra di Synaptic saltano i settaggi avanzati degli effetti visivi, quindi devo chiudere tutte le finestre aperte sul desktop per riattivare gli effetti visivi Normali, aggiuntivi o personalizzati senza dei quali compiz non funziona ...
 
mmm beh da lspci ho cavato fuori solo probabilmente la cam XD quindi amen, altrimenti posta lspci -v tutto intero, questo era solo per verificare la scheda video..

i moduli attivi sono tantissimi U,u .. cmq nvidia sembra essere caricato...

scusami ma vorrei capire, per me linux è tutto da scoprire da poco ho abbandonato Windows e ho ancora tanta strada da fare ...
Quindi con questa ricerca mi vuoi dire che il problema sono i drive nvidia ?? devo reistallarli ?? o forse il problema è la configurazione del VGA controller ?? ( ammetto la mia ignoranza , non so ne cos'è ne come si configura... )

Il problema è che un sistema operativo non va usato per avere un desktop fico, non riesco a capire questa mania del "cubo" quando la gente passa ad ubuntu

Senti io non sono passato ad UBUNTU per il cubo, come dici tu, ma per chi vuole abbandonare windows per passare a linux di certo UBUNTU è un buon partito perchè aiuta anche i più impediti come me ...
Poi se esiste compiz che fa impallidire i più incalliti amanti di windows tanto meglio chissà forse Bill o chi lo seguirà nel prossimo Windows cercherà di creare qualcosa del genere e come sempre ne cambierà il nome ...

Scusami Blackcode solo tu mi puoi levare da questo labirinto, ti chiedevo se devo reinstallare i drive nvidia o forse se il problema è la configurazione del VGA controller e quindi come potrei procedere a rigurdo ..

Lo so che a lavare la capa al ciuccio si perde l'acqua e il sapone ... :)
