Domanda Grafica Violazione dei diritti d'autore?

Volevo sapere se qualcuno mi potesse dare una delucidazione in merito al modificare una foto/immagine che qualcuno ha creato, cioè ponendo il caso di un'immagine che si trova sul web e questa voglia essere modificata da un'altra persona che non sia quella che ha per primo caricato l'immagine, si violano i diritti d'autore oppure esista la libertà di fare editing di tutto quello che si vuole?
La domanda è un pò contorta, se c'è la necessità di spiegarmi meglio chiedetemelo..
