Part 2: GUI Adjustment and Improvement
(08/14/16)

We would like to create the game with good interface and more importantly maintain the user friendly status, That's why this update is about the interface effects or other stuff about it

Having a user friendly interface would reduce the difficulty on handling the interface of the game.. As for an example, there's a box-like interface at the game screen with a Circle Icon, the user tried to hover the cursor on it but there's no response on that part, so the user thought it's just part of the GUI and he tried to click on it then a logout option appear.. This is what we'd like to avoid, having a hard to understand interface

Updates

Movable GUI (The Gif Image below will explain everything about this)
Note: The functionality of this system is not this slow, It's just my gif recorder suck

Development
Part 1: Menu Interface
(08/11/16)

This will be the first part of the development of the game, Actually we already started the game since last year but due to some problems in real life, we are lacking time to do update fast at that time. I'll be the one who will post the updates of the Engine starting from now on.

I'm merging all of the project history that I've done since I started my career as a programmer so I can say that this will be the best engine and also the best game that I will ever make

The history of the engine started from Mirage Source which was developed by a group of people using Visual Basic 6.0, I know that this language is now old and probably is now unsupported on other OS, but still the engine or the application itself can work on any OS, that's why I'm trying to reach the limit of what can VB6 do and use it on this game, of course we do plan to upgrade on different programming language after this one succeed

Updates
  • Started PokeNew Engine
  • Created a function to determine the supported Resolution of the computer (every computer have the limit of supported resolution so this function list all of those so that we can use the later on)
  • Created a system which change the window size by the desired resolution
  • Added a Fullscreen Option (since we have a changable resolution, i thought that it will be possible if i also added a Fullscreen mode)
  • Textures are now being rendered on their original size rather than getting scaled when changing resolution
  • Maximized window screen now supported

Development
Part 4: In-Game
(09/28/16)

After 1 month doing some trial and error with the resolution stuff in-game, we finally complete the part where the system calculate the area that will be rendered on screen depend on the resolution on your settings.

On this update, we are showing a video instead of screenshot.

Updates
  • Map Tile matching with Screen Resolution
The resolution is based on the available resolution on your system, So it will list all resolution on the settings but the default resolution is 800x600
  • Handling Player
This include the player movement, creating character, deleting character, etc.
  • Some bug fix and change to improve the fps (frame per second not 'First Person Shooter') of the game

Video
Note: The black corner part is the edge of the map, that means, there's nothing in there.. right now the camera keep the player position on the center of the screen, we will update it soon where the camera won't show those black corner part
PS: Those character sprite are not the one that we will use

Part 5: Chatbox & some In-Game Part
(10/10/16)

The previews update shows that we are done setting up the In-Game screen and stuff
Chatbox is very important system on a Online RPG game, how can you interact with players without a chatbox
If you are familiar with Mirage Engine, Eclipse Origins, or any VB based online open-source game. You might notice some similar point with the chatbox those engine have and with the chatbox we have

Updates
  • Chatbox (featuring a user-friendly interface)
    image: http://i.imgur.com/XfxUmJ4.png

    XfxUmJ4.png
  • Global Menu (or that's what i call it)
You can access this menu by pressing [Esc] button

  • Some Bug Fixed on Socket (regarding with the player character not being disconnected properly when bug occur on their client)

(11/08/16)

It's been a month since I last posted an update, I was off since this pass few weeks, busy dealing with some school problem and stuffs
This update will show a In-Game preview of the game, Some parts are not recorded yet, anyway here's the video

  • Added a password strength meter on Registration Window
