Ragazzi una cosa, perchè pur seguendo la guida fino alla fine mi ritrovo a non avere i privilegi su navicat? Ho notato che nell'eseguire l'assegnazione dei privilegi all'utente "root" ricevo in risposta che "0 row affected", ma chiedendo in giro ho sentito solo frasi del tipo "root potrebbe avere già i privilegi e quindi non modifica nulla". Cosa potrei ricontrollare?

La cosa migliore è dare un mysql_upgrade dopo aver inserito i database, così setta automaticamente i privilegi. E non c'è nessun problema a mettere le librerie invece che installarle

non si collega al database
devi cambiare mt2 ( user ) e mt2!@# ( psw ) con quelli che usi per mysql.

se io volessi usare freebsd 9.1 a 32 bit, il procedimento è uguale o cambia qualcosa?

Mi da un errore con FreeBSD 9.2 64bit.

Quando arrivo a mettere la password nel MySQL, ovvero quando scrivo:

mysqladmin -u root password TUA.PASSWORD"
mi da un errore molto strano:

"mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed

Error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server Triuggio socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/tmp/mysql.sock' exists!

Qualcuno mi aiuta?

Non vorrei dire una cavolata, ma hai installato il mysql male.
non si crea il file mysql.sock e quindi non ti fa selezionare una password.

Non credo proprio.
Ho fatto lo stesso procedimento su FreeBSD 8.4 64bit e FUNZIONA PERFETTAMENTE.

Stesso procedimento su FreeBSD 9.2 64bit e da quell'errore.

Mysql_sock è un problema che non ti salva la password.

Reinstalla il mysql e metti la versione 5.6
