**Dear MT2009 Community,**
We believe it is important to speak with our community openly and transparently.
We are fully aware of the support you have given us until now. Since the day MT2009 was created, our goal has always been to provide you with the **most balanced and fair gameplay experience possible**. For this reason, we made many conscious decisions to avoid turning the game into a **pay-to-win environment**, and a significant portion of the revenue generated from the project has always been reinvested directly into **server infrastructure and advertising** to help grow the community.
However, the **unexpected technical incident that occurred on Saturday** placed us in an extremely difficult situation. The data center **suddenly performed an unauthorized maintenance action on our server**, which caused serious damage across our entire system.
Under normal circumstances, our infrastructure is protected by **three separate backup methods**. Two disks operate as a mirrored clone storing identical data, and an additional backup system stores full backups of our data on a separate disk.
Unfortunately, the **FreeBSD crash on our main server** also caused damage to the disk that contained our automated backups, which are normally generated **every 10 minutes**. Because of this, from the very first moment of the incident our entire focus shifted to **data recovery operations**.
We have been working on this for many hours, but so far we have not found a method that can **fully restore the lost data**. Due to the sudden interruption, the **most critical database tables crashed**, and recovering them directly from the current system is not possible.
A **professional data recovery company** has also been working on the physical disks under an emergency request for more than **24 hours**, but unfortunately they have not been able to retrieve the lost data so far.
At this moment, the **most stable and usable backup we have available** is dated:
**25.02.2026 – 02:09 (CET)**
Because of this, technically we now have **two possible options moving forward:**
1. **Restore this backup** and continue the server with **increased drop, Yang, and EXP rates** to help players recover lost progress faster.
2. **Restart the server completely from scratch** with a fresh beginning.
The backup mentioned above is currently the **only intact copy**, which exists on our developer’s personal machine. The second disk containing additional backups was also indirectly affected by the incident.
We understand that this decision is **extremely important for the entire community**. For that reason, we want to manage this process **as transparently as possible** and take your opinions into consideration before making the final decision.
However, in order to prevent misinformation, manipulation, and unnecessary arguments during this sensitive period, **chat channels will remain temporarily closed**.
You can share your thoughts and suggestions with us through the **suggestion channel**. Every request will be reviewed carefully, and responses will be provided as soon as possible.
Additionally, for players who have purchased **DC**, all DC balances will be **fully restored to their accounts**. All payment records are securely stored within our systems.
Our goal is to resolve this situation in the **most fair, transparent, and responsible way possible**.
For this reason, in order to make the **most appropriate decision for both the team and the community**, we kindly ask you to participate in the **poll that will remain open for the next 4 hours**.
Please evaluate the situation carefully and **cast your vote accordingly**.
**MT2009 Team**
